Thornham and the surrounding area of north west Norfolk has a wealth of variety for a coastal holiday. Thornham is a pretty coastal village six miles from Hunstanton, twenty miles from Kings Lynn and four miles from Brancaster. It can boast a very high quality village shop and tea room. The Lifeboat Inn and The Coach House are popular meeting and dining pubs. The Orange Tree is a stylish contempory gastropub and has been voted in the top twenty of all dining pubs in the UK by Eat Out magazine (May 2009).
Bird watching, beaches, golf for serious players at Old Hunstanton and Brancaster links courses, horse riding, rambling, walking the famous North Norfolk Coast Path and Peddars Way (site of roman road) are all within minutes of number nine. Sandringham House, Houghton Hall and The Holkham Estate are all a short drive away. There are many small galleries and art exhibitions open in the summer months. The North Norfolk Railway with frequent steam trains from Sherringham to Holt are just thirty minutes drive. The venue for the Hunstanton tennis week is only about five miles away.
